What are we Striving for?

What are we all striving for?
Are we trying to bring the gospel to the entire world or are we trying to refute the many factions that Satan has brought forth? I'm talking about the humanist thought process.
I'm talking about the pluralist ideas that have taken over America. We, as a nation of Reformed Christians, have been watered down by a deluge of non-Christian groups.
I am not saying we shouldn't allow folks from foreign countries to enter the USA, but when they come to America, they should realize that this country was founded upon, not religious principles, but upon the gospel of Jesus Christ. So it was stated by Patrick Henry.
We should hold true to the truth, which our founding fathers held to, that humanism and materialism is a false science. Science is now and has always been in complete harmony with the Bible.
When people step outside of the bounds of science and enter into protracted hypothesis based upon faulty and overtly distorted facts they are sure to be at odds with the teachings found in the Bible and must then find themselves opposed to the truth.

You see, what we have had happen to us is we have allowed ourselves to get caught up in battling the alligators when in reality our first goal was to drain the swamp.
Our stated objective in the Gospel is to bring the message of salvation to all mankind and baptize them all in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
But our time and energy has been drained off to fight such things as abortion, Euthanasia, homosexuality, atheism, gnosticism, universalism, evolution, teen pregnancy, unwed families, pornography, drugs, school violence, political battles, heresy within the flock, cults, various conspiracies, various Bible translations, cost-of-living standard, members of our own family, errant doctrines, Biblical and non-Biblical hoaxes, blasphemies and each other.

Who is the great deceiver? Who is the great murderer? Who is the great liar and the Father of the lie? (John 8:44) He is the one that has throughout time been the deceiver and accuser of mankind.
But we must understand that the heart of man is inherently wicked and evil all the time. That is what we must be ready to battle against, while carrying on the spiritual battle with powers and principalities for the hearts and souls of men.
That is why we must be ready for battle because when we are not ready for battle, we will be shot in our spiritual derrière with the arrows of the devil and will have to go and pluck them out, by the Holy Spirit.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:13-17

Having our loins girt about with the truth. We must not tell a lie, nor live a lie, nor permit a lie to go without being retorted by us.

Having on the breastplate of righteousness. That is not the breastplate of arrogance. In your heart of hearts, know that what you believe has been revealed and confirmed to you by the Holy Spirit.
Know that righteousness goes to the depth of your soul. It is being not only right for God and with God, but being good, kind, gentle, meek, not given to wrath, but rather long-suffering towards all men.
Do you remember who God said was righteous? It was Job, was it not?

Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel. Not only do we tie on the gospel tightly but we stand on it. It is our foundation. The Word is our Rock.
We build our house upon a rock foundation and when the waves come against it our house shall not fall.

Taking the shield of faith, wherewith we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. There are plenty of wicked in the world and they will hurl fiery darts at you without any hesitation.
"God is wicked", they will say. "There is no God" they will launch at you, "you are unloving", and "that is hate speech" is the latest strikes at you.
Our faith must be sound, built upon rational decisions, logical evidence, and convincing arguments rather than blind faith, emotional forces and ill conceived opinion.

Take the helmet of salvation. Protect what goes into and out of your mind, heart and mouth. Everything that you experience in a days time stays with you for the rest of your life.
Every image, every word, every thought. We are a product of the people we know and the books we read(Also the images we see). Ask yourself while watching TV, is this worthy of God.
When watching (most of you don't play) a football game, ask is this really adding value to my life. How about all the "activities" that take up such an enormous amount of our time today.
Are all these preceding "things" increasing or diminishing our hold on salvation?

What did Jesus say to the church at Thyatira?

But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. Rev 2:25

and to Philadelphia?

hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Rev 3:11

And now we arrive at the (s)Word of the spirit, which is the Word of God. Everything else has been a protection or defensive adjustment.
The Word is our offensive weapon. To some it will be offensive, no matter how lightly we wield it. To some it will be for cutting apart the myth from the reality.
Few will respect you for your God given duty. Very few, in the world, will understand why you are doing the Great Commission.
Many will talk against you, belittle you, accuse you of falsehoods, use improper coercion to silence your witness.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12

We must know how to use the (s)Word or we can inflict great damage. If we cut too deep we may have to wait a long time for healing before attempting to wield it in that arena again. Our (s)Word must be gentle as a dove but as cunning as an asp.
You may only need a small (s)Word to take on a meek, shy person that is really hurting deep down inside but needs milk from the Spirit to get the first step going. With some a large (s)Word will not cut through their hardened heart.
They are blind, evil and hate God. They could be the third or fourth generation which received the consequences of their fathers sins.
You must be as a surgeon cutting out the cancer which has begun to eat up our society from the inside.

Now here is the question. Are you ready for the battle? Are you up to the challenge?

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2Ti 4:7

Paul told Timothy, I have fought a good fight,HAVE YOU?, I have finished my course, WILL YOU?, I have kept the faith, CAN YOU?

The name of the game is obedience. The name of the game is submission. You must be willing to submit to the mighty hand of God and resist the devil and he will flee from you.
