Read the Word!
they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily . . Acts 17:11
Notice that it says they received the word with all readiness of mind. They were looking for the truth. Don't read the Bible looking to prove your agenda. Look at the scriptures as if you were in the presence of the Great Master and He were giving you nuggets of truth for your mind.

Are you tossed about by the whims of the world? You need an anchor!

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34

Love your Brothers and your Sisters!
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:37-39
We have two commisions given by Jesus Christ. One is taking communion, the bread and the wine, and the other is baptism.Taking the bread is symbolic of the body of Christ that He gave for all mankind, saint and sinner alike. The wine represents the blood that had to be spilled to pay for your sins and mine. There was no other way. That is Gods Law. Jesus fulfilled that law.
This is my body which is given for you . . . this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer . Acts 6:4
The Disciples asked Jesus how should we pray. And He taught them. He said that Our Father is Holy and that we should seek His will and His kingdom, that He forgives sins and helps keep us from more sin and that His kingdom and power and glory is forever.
Timothy, pray always,
Paul said. He hears and answers prayer.
Would you like to pray?
Follow the prayer inside as we pray together. Ask God to come into your heart and make you one of HIs children for all eternity.
We see that fasting is part of our spiritual life in Christ also. As Christ did in the desert for 40 days, so we can do for a few days to cleanse ourselves and build our faith. Matthew 15:32 says Jesus had compassion on the crowd because they had stayed with Him 3 days without food. He knew they were hungry and He did not send them away weary from hunger. He fed 5000 of them with a miracle of the fish and bread. Jesus understood the need to eat as well as the need for fasting. Let me caution you on fasting. Don't try a long fast the first time. Start with 1 day or so. That should be OK to start with. and Pray!
