It is my objective in this book to ask the question, "Does Christmas have a basis in the Bible or has it been conjured up by Mankind?" The Bibles I use for my study are the King James Version, New International Version, American Standard, New American Standard, Revised American Standard, and the Basic Bible in English. I also use contemporary and historical commentaries like John Wesley and the Peoples New Testament. I may make a convincing argument for what I believe but, as is the Bible, it is left up to the reader to determine the answer in your own heart to the question "Is Christmas For Christians?" Let me comment on my background in the Christian faith. I was raised in a Roman Catholic family and rejected it in early adulthood. Within a few years I became saved and accepted Christ as my Savior. That was new to me due to an adherence to a religion rather than a personal relationship with a Savior. Unfortunately, I strayed from that within a few years. Almost 10 years later I started to study with the Jehovah's Witnesses. Within a year or so I ended my association there and again fell back into sin. Once again, more recently, Gods' Holy Spirit called to me, although this time it was not a church but through a business I got involved in called Amway. I never made any money but I fell in love with the Lord once again and I started to do a lot of studying through a variety of sources. (i.e. The Bible, The Encyclopedia, the internet, leadership books as well as motivational tapes) and I started talking to a lot of people about this subject. I guess God never gave up on me and the Holy Spirit worked in my life to make me see the wrong path I was on. At this point I wish to emphasize that I believe the Jehovah's Witnesses are a false religion and they deceive many with their teachings. I believe they have mistranslated the Bible for their own benefit. Although I am no longer associated or influenced by them, I've learned some valuable lessons. Many people can be "teachers" of Christ and still not be saved and many who are "worldly", though they abhor organized religion, may, in the end, be saved by realizing the truth of Christ and at once submitting to it. I am happy to announce that at this time in my life I feel I have been called back to the heart of Christ, (I should have been called out behind the barn) by the Holy Spirit. I am firmly planted in God's Word and study every day to find God's will in my life. Hallelujah.
