The Bible is there for you to read. All you have to do is pick it up and ask God to show you the truth.
It's as easy as that!
It is my firm opinion that if you prayerfully read the scriptures daily, you will learn the way to salvation, the way to live and the will of God in your life. He is calling to you by His Holy Spirit [Even us, whom he hath called. Romans 9:24].
When you search the scriptures you will see how God has carefully laid out plans for reconciliation between HIM and YOU. [Us, whom he hath called. Romans 9:24]
He knows your heart and He will send His Holy Spirit to speak to your heart and invite your prayers. If you can't form the words, the Holy Spirit prays for you to God.
Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God. . . . . . . .1 Corinthians 7:24
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."
Do you search the scriptures daily?
Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. . . Matthew 22:29
Search the scriptures. . . John 5:39
Have ye not read this scripture. Mark 12:10
There are many religions and many ideas on how to reach God. Some believe that God is within us if we can just perfect ourselves we will find Him. Some believe that Jesus was just a good teacher. Some say they are 'good enough' or 'doing OK'
Jesus said, "Be ye perfect"
Bow your head, lift your eyes to heaven, raise your hands to God or clasp one to the other. However you wish to pray- God will listen! He looks at your heart, not your hands or your head.
Are you sure of what you are being told by your clergy? Do they interpret scripture for you? Let the scripture interpret scripture.
Jesus said, "Take heed that no man deceive you." . . . . Matthew 24:4
(whosoever readeth, let him understand):
. . . . . . . . Matthew 24:15
Jesus said,"Take heed lest any man deceive you." . . . . . .Mark 13:5
(let him that readeth understand)
. . . . . . . . . Mark 13:14
He said,"Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ . . . .Luke 21:8
Jesus said there will be many false prophets that will arise to lead many astray. There are many religions and denominations in the world who teach "another gospel". What are these "other gospels"?
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! . . . . . . . . Galatians 1:6-8
A) Salvation by works -[If I am a good person God will reward me] WRONG!
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast . . . . . . Ephesians 2:8-9
B) There are many Gods, by many names -WRONG!
there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all Ephesians 4:6
C) There are many paths --WRONG!
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus . . . 1 Timothy 2:5
D)Jesus was not the same as God, [the deity of Christ denied]- WRONG
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. . . . . . . . . . . 1John 5:7
E) You are "saved " by baptism.-NO!
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. . . . . Acts 2:21
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. . . . . . Matthew 7:7
F) The Bible is an old book of stories
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: . . . . . . 2 Timothy 3:16
G) There are other books and writings that supercede the Bible.
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. . . Revelation 22:18-19
H) I was baptized at birth so I'm OK
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. . . . . John 3:3, John 3:7 (see also Acts 8:36-38, Mark 16:16)
I) I believe in God, I'm OK.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? . . . James 2:19-20
