Chapter 1b:

The Bible

Chapter 1b:  A Few Discrepancies

The following is a mosaic of different authors/editors that have studied the subject of Bible translations that deny the deity of Christ, change His name to Lucifer, Deny His right to be worshiped, deny that His atoning grace is sufficient for us. The most horrible result of the new Bibles is 1) its terrible impact on the younger generation who have never seen a King James Bible, 2) the opening of the way for the New Age movement by the wording of the new Bibles, and 3) the glorifying of Lucifer by words that are very close to Satanic Bibles.

LORD'S PRAYER LUKE 11:2-4

KJV -OUR Father WHICH ART IN HEAVEN Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come THY WILL BE done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses; as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

NIV/NASB - Father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.

Is there something missing there? What about thy will be done as in heaven so on earth. Or lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil.

The older NIV has footnotes, which give some of the rest of the scripture that is missing but the newer one has no notes, words are simply missing. You see how slowly it is being eaten away, a bit at a time?

Compare Isaiah 14:12 in the popular New International Version (NIV) with the King James Version (KJV):
KJV: "How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!"

NIV: "How you have fallen from Heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn."

Why is that such a big error, you ask? Lets look at Revelation.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Rev 22:16

Did Jesus fall from heaven? Lucifer fell from heaven and Jesus is the offspring of David.

The blood of Jesus is omitted in Colossians 1:14

KJV: "In whom we have redemption through His Blood, Even the forgiveness of sins."

NASB: "In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

The saving power of Jesus Christ is diminished in John 6:47

KJV: ?Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."

NASB: "Truly, truly I say unto you. He that believes has eternal life."

Take this reference to Zechariah 13:6:
KJV: What are these wounds in thine hands?
NIV: What are these wounds on your body?
NASB: What are these wounds between your arms?
RSV: What are these wounds on your back?

The Living Bible does not claim to be a translation but is a paraphrased version of the Holy Scriptures but it is usually more inaccurate than the other new translations.

KJV: And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends [close of kin].

TLB: And if someone asks, then what are these scars on your chest and your back? he will say I got into a brawl at the home of a friend!

Many scriptures are made gender neutral.

Reference NASB, NIV KJV
Luke 10:16 Rejects the One despiseth him
Luke 12:5 the One Him
Matthew 13:37 The one He
Matthew 24:13 the one who endures He
John 4:25 One He
John 6:46 The One He
John 7:18 the one His
John 9:37 He is the one (NIV) it is He

The changes also reflect the name for God as specified by the New Age and the Eastern religions, they refer to "the great divine spirit of which we are all apart." Thus they eliminate the idea of a personal God and reflect pantheism.

Reference NASB, NIV KJV
Genesis 42:38 A man like this in whom is a divine spirit a man in whom the Spirit of God is in
Romans 11:4 But what is the divine response What saith the answer of God
I Samuel 28:13 a divine being God
II Corinthians 10:4 the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world, but have divine Power For the weapons of ours are not carnal but mighty Thru God
Acts 8:10 This man is the divine power known as the Great Power (NIV) This man is the great power of God

The word "fornication" and/or "fornicators" occurs 38 times in the KJV but not once in the NIV.

Reference NASB, NIV KJV
Matthew 10:5 instruct commanded
Mark 7:7 precepts commandments
Matthew 15:4 God said God commanded
Matthew 21:37 respect reverence
Mark 6:8 instructed commanded
I Timothy 4:11 prescribe command

The word "command" or "commanded" occurs 774 times in the KJV but has a word like the above substituted for it more than 300 times in the new translations. The dilution in meaning is obvious.

The NIV/NASB thinks blaspheme is too strong so it substitutes another milder word 60% of the time. The word "Abomination" occurs 142 in the KJV but only 9 times in the NIV. God did not change His mind from it being an abomination to disliking an act. When He commands us, He doesn't suggest, instruct or give precepts. The word "forbid" occurs 45 times in the KJV and only eight times in the NIV. The new translation says children should not "obey" their parents but heed them. Wives are no longer "subject" to their husbands but committed to them. © 1997, 1998, 2000 Aaron C Ministries

"An indication that Arianism (the denial of Christ's Deity) is with us today is to be found in the footnote of the ASV (American Standard Version) at John 9:38. In verse 35 the Lord Jesus asks the man born blind if he believes on the Son of God. In verse 38 he replies, "Lord, I believe, and he worshipped Him". In this footnote the translators plainly reveal the fact that they do not believe in the Deity of Christ but refer to Him as a mere creature of Adam's race. Turn to this in your American Standard Version and see for yourself. Referring to the word "worship" the note reads; 'The Greek word denotes an act of reverence, whether paid to a creature (AS HERE) or to the creator.' Consider this when you hear Bible teachers say; 'This is the best version!'" (And the ASV was published some 50 years before the RSV!) By David Otis Fuller, D.D. Grand Rapids, Michigan

Here is how the spurious Goodspeed Bible translates Isaiah 1:18 as follows: "Come, Let us reason together saith the Lord, Tho your sins be like scarlet, shall they be white as snow? tho they be red like crimson, shall they become as wool?" It is not a question, as though one might question God but rather a statement by The Almighty.

Lets look for the spirit of the antichrist in this scripture, 1 John 4:3 NIV,NASB,et al: every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God KJV: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God

The New King James Version is not exempt from criticism here either, in Ecclesiastes there are over 50 changes in the first chapter alone. Many modern Bibles dare not even call themselves "the Holy Bible' due to their total departure from what God breathed originally, so you will just see "The Message" or "New International Translation", etc. You will note by peeking inside the first page a copyright page. This means it is substantially different from others to be copyrighted and you can't have it without buying it from them. You can get the KJV on the internet any day of the week free of charge, many with search options and commentaries too. I personally use the one from e-sword.org. It is a very good bible. Try to find an NIV free on the internet, or NASB, etc.

From Dr. Samuel Gipp: QUESTION: Should we make an issue of Bible translations? ANSWER: Only if you believe anything out of it. EXPLANATION: Many Christians attempt to evade the issue of whether of not there really is a perfect Bible (as they are told from the pulpit) by piously sounding pastors hiding behind the statement, "I don't make an issue of Bible translations." It is perfectly acceptable to assume such a position as long as you are consistent in your stand... or lack of it.

In other words, if the issue of a perfect Bible is a "non-issue" with you, then to be consistent, neither should be ANY of the following:
1. The virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Isa 7:14
2. The deity of Jesus Christ. I John 5:5
3. The substitutionary death for sins made by Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8
4. The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. I Cor 15:4
5. Salvation by grace alone without works. Eph 2:8, 9
6. The Pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ. I Thess 4
7. The existence of a literal Heaven. John 3:13
8. The existence of a literal Hell. Mark 9:42-44
9. The acceptance of Creation over the theory of evolution. Gen 1:7

This is by no means a comprehensive list of convictions held by those who call themselves "Fundamentalists." Yet every one is taken from the Bible. How on earth can a thinking, rational person make an issue or have a conviction on something that they have taken out of the Bible, but see "no issue" concerning the perfection of the Book on which they base their every issue? IF the Bible has mistakes in it, then how can we be sure that it is correct in those passages on which we base our convictions? Some may say, "I accept the Bible where it is accurately translated." Fine! THAT is the statement of faith of every Mormon in the world! WHO is to judge just where the Bible is "accurately translated?"

No, it is impossible to make "any issue" over even one doctrine from the Bible and claim not to make an "issue" over the Bible itself. Why then do people make such a statement? Basically, it is out of fear of the consequences of such a stand. They are afraid of the rejection of their friends, family, and fellow-workers.

How bold for the truth are you?
